Let me set the scene for how I read this book: I bought this book back in like 2011 or 2012 on iBooks on my handy-dandy iPod Touch (first generation with a camera, btw), and I never read it. Fast-forward to spring 2018, and I finally downloaded it on my iPhone 8 Plus. (Big screen = easier time reading with bigger font.) I started reading it during my chiropractor appointments while I was in the waiting room. I then quit reading it when I quit going to the chiropractor -- not because I wasn't interested, but because I was just simply "too busy." This spring, I picked it back up where I'd left off and started reading it while in the waiting room for my allergy shots. (I'm clearly at the doctor's way too often for oddly specific and routine things.)

I really enjoyed this book in that it has a totally different take on werewolves than what people are really used to. I loved how that it had the weather be a determining factor and the character development of everyone in the story. There were no characters that were flat out superficial (except for maybe Grace's parents, but they're a rant for a different day). The joy I had while reading this book is one I hadn't had in a while about a fantasy story about shapeshifters. I was very pleased with how well the alternating point of view worked with moving the story along.

The connection between Grace and Sam is one that literally had me sitting on the edge of my seat to know what was going to happen next and made me want to have a belief in true love once again. To be honest, the sequel is already on my "to buy" list once I get through all the books I currently have in my possession that haven't been cracked open (which is, I think, dangerously close to being about 70 some odd books deep -- I don't have a problem, I swear).

I would recommend this book for anyone who went through a Twilight phase but wants something more than just "oh, dear, he's a space heater" with a bit of mystery and pizzazz.

This book can be found here on Amazon.
