Y'all, listen. I watched this movie opening weekend, and I'm finally ready to talk about it.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has slowly taken over all of our lives one way or the other -- even if we don't want to admit it. Ever since Iron Man aired all those years ago, it's been an adventure ever since. It all has to come to an end eventually, or it at least has to close one chapter and open another one. That's exactly what this movie did.
When the movie opens, it starts exactly where Infinity War ended. Then, there's a time jump to FIVE YEARS INTO THE FUTURE. The time jump is where things start to get me all sorts of emotional with all of the wonderful characters that the movie has in it (along with the whole franchise, really). The movie does a great job of pulling everything together and providing the characters ways to show how they're dealing with the grief of the snap across even the entire galaxy.
During the course of the movie during flashback scenes, it gives you a trip down memory lane of how much you've even grown with the characters yourself. Being able to see back on iconic scenes that you remember the first time seeing them really takes you to a place where you cannot help but be emotional while watching them.
At the end of the movie during the big fight scene, I knew that was when everything that I was dreading and simultaneously looking forward to was going to happen. I was excited to see all of my favorite characters come back, but I also was not excited to see some of my favorites go at the same time. I wasn't prepared for appearances from so many characters that I've looked up to throughout the course of these films.
All in all, I'm looking forward to the next set of Marvel movies, but I know that there are some characters that I'll always #Love3000 and make me still get teary eyed on occasion knowing that they'll be proud to see how their legacy lives on.
Overall: my take away from the whole movie was what I learned from Thor Odinson: No matter where I am at mentally, I know that I will still be worthy of great things and being able to do those great things.
