I have to make a disclaimer for this: This movie was everything I wanted and more....until I watched Dumplin'.

There. I said it. I really enjoyed this movie because I can relate to being that plus-sized girl with the weird taste in fashion as a teenager. I could relate with really hoping that the guy likes you....when in all actuality he likes the girl you hang out with (aka he's using you to get to her). I really enjoyed how that it played out......until the ending.

Let me explain. Sierra Burgess is a super confident girl who goes to the beat of her own drum and her goal is to go to the best school possible. She's in the band and plays clarinet. She also ended up getting a mysterious text message from a boy at the rival high school.....that was meant for the super popular girl at her school. The popular girl gave the boy Sierra's number as a joke. With this said, it led to Sierra befriending the popular girl so that they could "help each other." It led to a beautiful friendship blossoming, or so we thought. Girls can get super catty at times and become jealous over nonsense things. I really had hoped that Sierra was the type of girl that wouldn't stoop so low to get back at someone, but I was sorely mistaken.

I did not like how she let her own insecurities to provoke her to do what she did. I do not see how any of those involved forgave her so easily after it happened. It did blow up way out of the proportion that she intended, but it still was just bad. Very bad. But, as Netflix does, it wrapped everything up and put a big ole bow on it at the end to make them live "happily ever after." Which, I guess, made me feel good after all.

Overall, I wouldn't say this movie is my absolute favorite, but it is one that I have watched about three times. I can turn it on and know what I'm getting. (Plus, the soundtrack is very, very good.) I would recommend this movie to anyone who is a fan of Dumplin' but don't be looking for anything Bo and Willowdean related type content (even though my boy Noah Centineo is in the film).
