Gerard Way is at it again with this TV show. The My Chemical Romance singer has created a world of dysfunctional superheroes that happen to also be siblings. It is everything I never knew that I needed.

The show only has one season so far on Netflix -- as that it is a Netflix original series. I watched the whole season in one day (while I was clearly trying to be a productive citizen), and I was so sad when it ended. Why? Because it left me wanting more.

The show centers around siblings Luther, Klaus, Diego, Vanya, Allison, Number Five, and Ben (kind of). You counted that right - there are SEVEN of them. They were are conveniently born on the same day to women who did not begin the day as being pregnant. A wealthy man adopted them and formed the Umbrella Academy to foster their unique abilities. Over time, the children resented their father (with the exception of Luther) and set off to have their own lives out in the world. They join together, once more, at the funeral of their father. Well, some of them aren't there, and one drops in unexpectedly, but I don't want to give away too much.

The series so far centers around them trying to save the world from the Apocalypse. Does this band of misfit superheroes save the day? Do they still allow this insanity to happen? Do they dance to "I Think We're Alone Now" by Tiffany? What happens?

I suggest you watch this series and laugh, cry, and dance until the very end. I suggest you pay close attention at all times. I also suggest that you have a gallon of your favorite ice cream and some Coca-Cola while welcoming these fantastic characters into your home and life.

Have you already watched season one? Leave your comments below about your favorite characters and what you think season two will bring.
